Carvaggio made amazing figurative paintings. His use of dramatic light was breath-taking and made his figures come to life. He uses his friends and normal street people as models. Carvaggio was a realist. He made many works and died young. Most of his paintings have religious themes. Carvaggio was known for painting tense and violent scenes, depicting Jesus Christ, his followers and his antaginizers.
